
I found the collection of pictures taken by the Society for Photographing the Relics of Old London held in the archive at the Bishopsgate Institute very creepy yet interesting enaugh to share them with you.
The photos were taken between 1875 and 1886.

These images are fabulous!
Amazing to see so many wooden structures in a city (and they underline why urban fires were so destructive). My favorite is the one with the salon banner “Formerly the palace of Henry the VIII and Cardinal Wolsey”.
Wow nice pictures…. (just imagine how we will live in 100 years).
Great pictures – do you know where they were taken. It’d be great to see what it looks like today.
